13 Apr Working Together to Beat COVID-19
April 10, 2020
The Meisner Team is hard at work, 3 shifts around the clock, building a temporary hospital at the Miami Beach Convention Center! The project began before designs were available and involved our participation in field research and collaboration with the General Contractor, Robins & Morton, and the US Army Corp of Engineers. We purchased much of the materials and were mobilized on site long before the first preliminary design documents were released.
The project consists of site installations to provide power to four-hundred (400) acute care patient units, fifty (50) negatively pressurized acute care patient units, and various staff support, headquarters, and nurses stations. The units are arranged into thirty-two (32) separate pods of fourteen (14) or fifteen (15) units, each with its own nurse’s stations and support area. Meisner’s scope consists of providing power, low voltage network connectivity, and nurse call system pathways to all areas of the project.
Thank you to all of our essential, hard-working Meisner employees that continue to rise to the occasion during the COVID-19 pandemic! Our electricians are working throughout Florida at our projects every day to ensure healthcare facilities remain on schedule to save lives such as the 450-bed temporary hospital facility being constructed inside the Miami Beach Convention Center. Most of our office staff including our Estimators, BIM Specialists, Purchasing, Accounting, Human Resources, and Support Staff team members have transitioned to working from home (not that easy to do) in support of our electricians and field operations staff.
